As summer is on its way everyone desires to have smooth healthy lips. The cold makes lips dry and chapped. It is also painful and irritating. There are a couple of things you can do so your lips stay looking healthy. Some exfoliating techniques are really easy to follow. We will be sharing with you three exfoliating techniques you can do before going to bed to keep your lips moisturized.
Chapped lips are caused by the cold. Many people think that if they lick your lips it will maintain them moisturized. But let me tell you that licking your lips is one off the worst ways to keep them from drying. The saliva dries out your lips removing any lip balm that you had. Get rid of any flavored lip balms as they will tempt you to lick your lips more quickly because of its flavor.
The key to having healthy lips is in the lip balm that you use. Try to use a lip balm that contains natural ingredients. Two ingredients to watch for is petroleum and beeswax. A good lip balm will nourish your lips with vitamin E, jojoba oil and balms that contain SPF protection of 15 or higher. This will keep your lips from burning and flaking. Always use lip balm as a base for your lipstick or lip gloss. Insure that you carry a moisturizing lip balm with you at all times.
Before you start exfoliating make sure to remove anything that is on your lips like makeup and natural oils. This will allow your treatment to penetrate deeper into your lip tissue giving you better results. For your first exfoliating technique you will start with a small bowl and add a teaspoon of sugar and a teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil. Mix them together until you get a paste. Using your clean index finger apply the paste onto your lips. Massage your lips for about 30 seconds to a minute. Make sure you are not too rough. Take a moist towel and wipe off the sugar. The second exfoliating technique is similar but except this time you will use a teaspoon of baking soda and a teaspoon of water. After you form a paste use a clean towel and dab it into the paste and apply to your lips. Using a moist paper towel wipe off your lips and then take a dry paper towel to clean your lips again. The third exfoliating technique is after you brush your teeth rinse your tooth brush in water and start rubbing your lips and dry them. When you are done with exfoliating make sure you moisturize with your favorite lip balm. These techniques are really simple and easy to follow.
Getting smooth healthy lips is not as hard as it sounds. Always remember to wear lip balm that will be good for your lips to moisturize. Exfoliating techniques are so simple that you can do them with ingredients that you have at your own home. Every night before you go to bed apply lip balm after your exfoliating technique. Enjoy your new and improved smooth healthy lips for the summer.Tags: Mousse Holds
